difference between ball mill raymond and trapezium mill

Ball mill, Raymond mill, and Trapezium mill are three commonly used grinding mills in the mining and processing industry. Each grinding mill has its own advantages and characteristics that make it suitable for different types of materials and applications.

1.Ball Mill: A ball mill is a cylindrical drum with a grinding media (steel balls) inside. The drum rotates and the grinding media falls on the material to be ground, crushing it to a fine powder. The ball mill is used for grinding materials such as coal, pigments, and feldspar for pottery.

2.Raymond Mill: Raymond mill is also known as Raymond roller mill. It uses a vertical structure with a classifier and a grinding ring, which rotates around the axis. The material is fed into the center of the grinding ring and is grinded by rollers that move in a circular motion. The finished powder is collected in a cyclone separator and discharged through a pipe. Raymond mill is suitable for grinding non-flammable and non-explosive materials with a Mohs hardness of less than 9.3 and a humidity of less than 6%.

3.Trapezium Mill: Trapezium mill is also known as MTW European grinding mill. It has a unique design with a curved surface and a flexible connection between the grinding roller and the grinding ring. The grinding rollers are arranged in a certain sequence and rotate around the central axis of the machine. The materials are fed into the machine through the feeder and are ground between the grinding rollers and the grinding ring. Trapezium mill is suitable for grinding and processing materials such as quartz, feldspar, calcite, talc, barite, fluorite, rare earth, marble, ceramics, bauxite, and phosphate ore.

Ball mill is suitable for grinding materials with low hardness and abrasiveness, while Raymond mill is suitable for grinding materials with moderate hardness and humidity, and Trapezium mill is suitable for grinding materials with high hardness and abrasiveness. Each grinding mill has its own advantages and limitations, and the choice of which one to use depends on the specific requirements of the application.
